How to complain
Use the in-app Report option, Help & Safety, or email hello@ratemyinstructor.co.uk. Include your name and email, the instructor/profile/review concerned, the exact statement or data complained of, why it is wrong or unlawful, supporting facts and the outcome requested.
What can be reported
Fake or incentivised reviews; false or defamatory allegations; threats, hate or illegal content; private information; impersonation; inaccurate or duplicate profiles; privacy objections; account issues; and appeals against moderation decisions.
What happens next
The complaint is recorded and assessed. We may ask the complainant or reviewer for more information. Depending on risk, content may remain visible, be temporarily restricted, corrected or removed. Reports are not shown publicly.
Fairness
Negative content is not removed merely because an instructor dislikes it. Positive and negative reviews are assessed under the same rules. We aim to consider the evidence, context, public interest, privacy and safety of the people involved.
Appeals
If you disagree with a moderation decision, reply to the decision email or submit a Moderation appeal through Help & Safety. Explain what decision should be reconsidered and provide any new information.
Urgent issues
If someone is in immediate danger, call emergency services. For potentially illegal online content, provide enough detail to identify it and explain the risk. We may preserve records or refer matters to an appropriate authority where legally required.
